006: Sinking City 111 / French Quarter + Ansonborough

Next up…a combo run of the French Quarter and Ansonborough. This was a decidedly different outing than our last - sans political rallies, soaring humidity and the reemergence of the general population from our collective hibernation. Brief bands of rain from a spontaneous tropical system didn’t dampen our spirits as we knocked out 15+ miles through this former wharf and warehouse district turned quiet, high end residential block and its resilient, residual open market (noting the goods being bartered have change a wee bit over the years.) There was touch less historic fill on this side and it felt that way as ticked off block after block. Higher ground helped our rather poor timing with the tide too, leaving the the old dogs dry and no worse for wear.

Stats: Total street mileage is 10.6 miles but the total distance travelled turned out to be 15.4 miles given all the repeats (an ongoing challenge and reality).
